Dad's Day 5K Race Results June 14, 2008

Race Course - Start at Prairie at Smith, Finish on Prairie under the Wortham Arch. The course is on flat concrete city streets, USAT&F sanctioned and certified. To satisfy insurance requirements, no skates, roller blades, strollers, bikes or animals are permitted on the course for the 5K run participants safety.

Competitive Chip Timimg - Chips for competitive 5K runners must be picked up on Race Day at Wortham Arch before 7:30 am and returned at the finish line

3K Family Walk and Kid's 1K
Not a competitive runner? Show your support in the fight against prostate cancer by joining the 3K Family Walk.* You can also run with your child in the Kid's 1K (12 and under), where every kid finishing receives a medal. * strollers and wheelchairs welcome

Registration
To register you must print, complete, sign and mail the Offline entry form or register Online with a credit card. To request a copy of your registration confirmation with Signmeup.com click here. Entry forms are available at any Randalls Food Market. Pay by check, payable to Day's Day 5K. Mailed entries must be postmarked by June 7, 2008. Entry fee is non-refundable. Your cancelled check is your receipt. No guarantee of t-shirt size on race day.

Awards: Men, Women & Kids
5K Timed Run: (Chip Time)
Trophies to the following winners:
Top male and female overall
1st place male and female Master (40 - 54)
1st place male and female Senior (55+)
Top 3 prostate cancer survivors

Commerative Medals to the following winners:
1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each age group.
14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over. No duplicate awards given.

Kids 1K: All kids who finish (12 and under) will WIN a commemorative medal. Trophies for the top 3 kids.


Door Prizes: Tear-off bib tabs should be turned in at the awards table before 9 am. ( Must be present to win)

 

Team Competition-Walking or Running
We wish to encourage competition by teams, either walking or running in the 5K. Awards will be by team size rather than by speed. Teams who wish to compete using the traditional gender and age-group scoring will continue to be recognized, as all chip-timed finishes will be recorded. Rules and forms for team captains will be available on-line and at packet pick-up. Team registrations are due by 7:30 on race day at the team registration table.

Fun, Food and Music! Door Prizes - including airline tickets! Cox Sports Photography will be photographing runners along the course. Their photos will be on display for purchase at www.coxsportsphotos.com by Wednesday, June 18

One family photo will be provided at no charge.

Ugly Tie Contest
Hey Dads! Remember all of those Father's Day ties you never wore? Now is your chance to turn one into a "winner", as the worst! Dig deep into your closet and wear it race day! Judging will take place at the awards ceremony.

Medical Aid -
Medical aid facilities will be available. Remember to drink plenty of fluids before and during the race. Water Stations will be along the course. We take reasonable precautions in planning a safe event. Participation is at your own risk.

Location and Parking
The race location at Wortham Center is downtown, 501 Prairie, 77002,at Smith, close to the Downtown Aquarium. Parking space is abundant on city streets and nearby lots, but is not free.
